Finding Ease in the Uncertainty

angela moonan finding ease in the uncertainty

Hi! There’s a wonderful saying that says, “When we no longer know what to do, we’ve come to our real work. And when we no longer know which way to go, we’ve begun our real journey.” And there are a lot of us, including myself that, lately especially, feel like we’re in this “in-between place.” Maybe there are aspects of the work that we do that we love. But we’re not fully immersed. We’re not in it one hundred percent.

Maybe we sort of care about the person that’s in our life, but we’re uncertain… or we’ve got a few opportunities knocking at our door in either arena, relationships or in our work ,or where we’re at in our lives with our children, with our family members, and we don’t know which way to go. We’re not sure which to choose. One, maybe feels easier. One maybe feels, maybe more financially, potentially prosperous, but we’re not really sure. And if you’re anything like me, I have this real need to know! I enjoy having a sense of certainty! But you know, sometimes not having that certainty and being okay, becoming okay with being in the in-between place, is the best place to be.

Right Here, Right Now

You can take stock of all the good things that you have in your life right here, right now — with no other striving. No other expectations, just looking around and saying, ‘I really love who I am and who I am becoming. I really love and appreciate the beauty and the gifts that have been bestowed upon me in my life.’ Is everything perfect? What is perfect? But can everything be with ease? And so I will always offer to you that, what has worked well for me, and I’ve, it’s taken a long time to learn this (and I’m still learning aspects of it)…

It’s like layers of an onion, I guess. Right? Is that the easy path, the easier path can be the right one. We’ve grown up in a culture learning that it has to be hard if it’s going to be worthwhile. That’s not true. That’s not true at all. So, I submit, just like in the saying, that the work is just beginning when you are in that in-between place. And it’s okay.

What Can You REALLY Control?

All is well, all is always working out one way or the other. I’m there with you on that journey. And it really is about living well today in the here and now. Because in the end, my dear friends, that’s really all you can control.

All the Best,

Angela
